ELLIE BONNIE
California Polytechnic State University
Industrial Technology and Packaging Major
From Denver, Colorado, Ellie is a first year at Cal Poly studying Industrial Technology. Sustainability and logistics have always interested her after working on the development of an instrument measuring the quality of the air particles in the atmosphere. Also, after traveling to Spain and working with kids in rural communities, she is excited to be involved with the Appropriate Technologies class targeting communities worldwide.

EMILY RAMIREZ
California Polytechnic University of San Luis ObispoÂ
Architecture Major
Born and raised in the Los Angeles County area, the second oldest of four children. Emily Ramirez as a senior architecture student grew an interest in sustainability and projects that serve a community. While on an exchange in Switzerland, she took a Humanitarian and Development Engineering course taught by Dr. Timothy Granata which has shaped her interests and influenced her undergraduate thesis to focus on Syrian Refugees in Lebanon. Emily loves traveling to new countries, kayaking, sketching, watching animations, and playing video games.


GRACE VANDERVORT
California Polytechnic University, SLO, Public Health Major
Grace Vandervort is a second year Public Health major at Cal Poly, who grew up in Orange County, volunteering her time at her local hospital. From there, she found inspiration to get involved with communities outside of her own. She traveled to South Africa this past December where she immersed herself in the culture and got to spend time in local schools and with the children from the townships.
HARRY YAN

Applied Mathematics Major
Harry Yan is a Second year Applied Mathematics major from Chengdu, China. As an international student, he has been in United States for almost 5 years. Before attending Cal Poly, he went to Capital Christian High School in Sacramento. During the years in high school, he joined the Mission Program which the group took several mission trips within Sacramento to serve homeless, special needs, and etc. With the group, he visited elderly community every other week. It helped him develop a greater awareness of volunteerism and service to others who need help.
