The day before

We make a second batch of sugar to melt since we realized we did not have enough to be in contact with our diode chain. Once we melted the sugar again. Unfortunately, it was realized an hour before sunset that wires were in the wrong place and daylight was limited. Another attempt had to be made the next day.

The next day

11:40

I walk into my studio and plug in the prototype to the solar panel, assuming it needs a few hours to warm up at least similar to the first prototype.

2:10

It has been two hours since it has been connected. Olive oil is placed in the fry pan. Nothing, warm, but not frying levels. The oil just sits, I decide to wait another hour.

3:00

The oil isn't frying. I decide to cut a few cherry tomatoes to see if it will do anything.

6:00

Sun is setting down and there is no frying happening. After group discussion. Another group member takes to her home to test.

The following days

Results

Our group member takes it home and tries to fry a cheese quesadilla. Which did not worked. We took our prototype apart to find the diode chain was fried and burnt. Perhaps we should not have dumped the 400 celsius melted sugar so quickly.
